Being a Jesus Follower in a Politically Correct World

Nowadays, everyone either believes in god or doesn't. But because of "political correctness" you are not supposed to define who "god" is. Well, I'm not very good at "political correctness" because it is a fancy name for telling lies designed to deceive people into feeling good about the wrong decisions they are making. PC says all religions are the same, and ultimately get to the same god. But don't accept that, take a close look for yourself and you will discover that it is not true. The problem is we have become lazy and we do not want to investigate for ourselves, we want others to tell us.

Only two religions share the same God, Judaism and Christianity. Jews follow all the laws set down by God's prophet, Moses, that was to foreshadow the coming of the Messiah. Many of them missed his coming and are still practicing those laws. Those who recognised Jesus when He came started what is known now as Christianity, but we have our roots in Judaism. We both follow the one true God.  The man Jesus, the Jewish Messiah, is God in human flesh. He came to this earth in order to fullfil a promise He made back at the beginning of mankind, when we first turned our back on God. He had promised to make a way for the human race to be able to again be in a relationship with Him as He had created us to be. Jesus' coming and death on the cross, and rising from the dead, accomplished that promise. That is why the Jewish history is full of sacrifices. Those were the foreshadowing of what Jesus the Messiah was meant to do for us. Only the animals couldn't do it permanatly because they were not human. So God came as a human in the person of Jesus, His sacrifice on the cross was permanate.  As you can see, there are no animal sacrifices in Judaism today.

Unfortunatly, much of the "Christian Church" has also been corrupted in our day. Many churches do not follow the Bible. They do not follow the teachings of Jesus. Some even agree that they are just one of many paths to god. Many look like special clubs for rich people, or are there to help you "feel better" about your life. They want nothing to do with the broken, hurting people of the world who need a loving God.

So, I find myself shying away from the lable of "Christian" and not because it might cause me harm, but because it is becoming PC. I am a follower of Jesus. A Christ-Follower, the Only way to the One True God.
